USA Trip Fall 2007 * Day 6
Pool & Party

Flo somehow managed to loose his driver's license. Maybe while riding the bike to or from the afterparty, maybe while undressing to get into the hot tub. Anyway, as he still is in posession of his German id, he will still be able to get alcoholic beverages. That is actually something these guys chase over here. I haven't been to a single bar where I wasn't asked for my id. Christoph might run another beard-related joke in the comments below on this, but last year in San Francisco, I wasn't asked a single time. Strange.

The Pool
The Pool
What was up on Saturday? Well, the weather was really great, about 30° C so I went to the pool on site. Unfortunately, the water inside was painfully cold so I was more into sunbathing then swimming (although I was inside for a few minutes, snapping for air).

Afterwards, we went shopping to a grocery store that pretty much only sells organic food. We got ground meat and vegetables to make some burgers as well as guacamole and some other stuff which came in handy as we were asked to join a barbeque party at a friend's house in the evening. Great, that organic stuff, especially the vegetables that are actually grown in the nearby neighbourhood as the avocados, the garlic, onions, pretty much everything sprouts in California I guess.
The party was nice and the food was really good but the beer disgusting. Americans neither know how to brew good beer nor how to tap it. Bud light - who would brew such a horrible stuff and sell it for God's sake?

We went downtown and to some other places for a while and finally got back to the barbequeue party. The only good thing about the American beer though is eventually that it didn't failed it's purpose. But again, no more details here :-)
